I’m Ken E. Salvage, a Visual Communication Specialist and Adjunct Instructor of Digital Communication at Houston City College. I bring 15+ years of experience translating complex ideas into clear, engaging visuals across design, writing, and media. From web and graphic design to technical illustration and brand development, I focus on clarity, consistency, and strategic execution across all platforms.

I currently teach “Project Analysis and Design” with a focus on integrating AI tools into modern creative workflows. I use AI to streamline processes, prototype faster, and automate repetitive tasks, allowing more time for problem-solving, strategy, and quality design. The result: practical, future-ready work that helps teams communicate better and build smarter. I leverage AI to enhance efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize content creation, integrating these insights into projects for maximum impact.

I led a small team of detailers that created detailed CAD drawing packages for architectural signage projects across the United States. By incorporating AI tools like ChatGPT, I significantly improved productivity and accuracy, particularly in administrative tasks such as code research, which allowed me to dedicate more time to complex problem-solving.

Notable Achievements

One of my most notable achievements is the development of a custom Color, Paint, and Materials Matching application, created with the help of Cursor AI and ChatGPT. This application enabled users to cross-reference colors, paints, and materials to find the perfect match for their projects. I regularly used this tool to save time and ensure accuracy.
